You used to work in finance so how did you begin writing fairytales?
When I was a child I used to make up stories for my sister and she always loved them, even into her teens! Then, as an adult and working in the busy finance world, I didn’t have time to search out good books for my children, so I made up stories for them instead. Eventually, if I did read a book to them, they would just ask for one of my stories instead and there were times that, if I broke away from a dinner party to put the children to bed, I often found that my guests had been enjoying the stories too via the baby monitor downstairs. When I found some of my old stories I had written down it occurred to me that other busy parents must find it hard to find good stories too, so I decided to put mine onto a website where other parents could access them easily. I have about 190 stories at the moment and the idea is that a new one is available each day for parents to tell or for children to read themselves.
